Admission
Eligibility :
The minimum eligibility to apply for admission shall be a pass in High School Certificate (HSC) Examination of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Orissa or equivalent.

Admission into IT&BT (Self-Financing) :
A student opting for IT&BT as fourth optional has to deposit a sum of Rs.1500/- and Rs. 1000/- respectively at the time admission.

Biotechnology will be retained as one of the subjects for +2 Science students subject to the condition that should minimum 16 selected students for admission. In case the number of students taking admission falls short of 16, the selected applicant will be require to take PCBM combination. No students will be allowed to change BT if the total number of candidate for BT is 16 or more.

Reservation of Seats :

Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (Sc/St)
• 8% and 12% of the sanctioned strength of First Year HS class are reserved for SC &ST students respectively. The reserved seats are not interchangeable

• SC/ST candidates selected for admission on merit shall not be counted against reserved seats.

• In case the number of applicants from among SC and ST exceeds the number of seats reserved for them, the Principal, of the college shall admit additional students by another 8% for SC and 10% for ST during the normal time of admission and this provision would be operated only when the Seats reserved for concerned community (12% for SC and 8% for ST) have been fully utilized. Additional Seats are not interchangeable and admission for these Seats will be strictly in order of merit. The Cut-Off marks for the purpose of provision of additional Seat shall be 40& for Art and Commerce and 50% for Science stream in the aggregate as the qualifying Examination.

• SC./ST applicants are required to submit a caste certificate from revenue officer not below the rank of a Thasildar in order to be considered for reserved seats.

Government Servants/Serving Defence Personnel on Transfer (GSOT)
• 4% of seats sanctioned shall be reserved for self/Children/wife/husband of Government Servant/Serving Defence personnel on transfer within normal time of admission.

• Government servants on deputation to any government/non-government agency shall be eligible for the reservation, but government servants on permanent transfer to corporate owned body shall not be eligible for the concession.

• A government servant retiring from service and shifting to a place where he/she wishes to reside after retirement shall be treated as government servant on transfer.

Physically Handicapped (PH)

• 3% of sanctioned strength shall be reserved for Physically Handicapped candidates.

• A handicapped candidate shall be considered for reserved seat only on production of certificate issued in his/her favour in the prescribed form by the Medical Board.

Burma Repatriates (BR)
2% of the seats sanctioned shall be reserved for the children of bonafide Burma Repatriates on production of the certificate from Special Offices, Burma Rehabilitation

Ex-Service (ESM)
• 1% of the seats sanctioned shall be reserved for the children/wife/husband of ex-serviceman

• The facility to avail oneself of reserved seats shall be given to ESM only on production of the certificate to that effect issued by the Rajya Sainik Board

Serving/ Defence Personnel- (SDP)
• 1% of seats sanctioned shall be reserved for the children of inservice Military/Defence personnel.

• The facility to avail one lf of reserved seat shall be given to SDP only on production of the certificate to that effect issued by the commanding officer of the parent's Unit or the appropriate authority. The candidate has to submit the Xerox copy of the certificate while submitting the application for admission.

Vacancy in reserved seats :
After admitting all eligible applicants for the reserved categories, the balance of reserved seats, if any shall be filled up by general candidates. No seat shall remain reserved for any category beyond the last date of regular admission.

Candidates from outside the state of Orissa (OSO)
• The number of applicants from outside the state of Orissa to be a admitted into HS class shall not exceed 5% of the total number of seats in the class.

• An applicant shall not be considered to be from outside the state of Orissa if he/she has passed the HSC/equivalent examination with Oriya as a subject

• An applicant whose parents are permanent residents of Orissa, has passed HSC/ equivalent examination from outside Orissa without Oriya as a subject shall not be considered from, outside the state of Orissa without Oriya as a subject shall not be considered from outside the state of Orissa, unless he/she produces a Permanent resident of the district.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

• Applicants holding certificate “A” shall be given weightage of additional 5% of mark over and above the aggregate marks secured at the HSC /Equivalent Examination but this weightage shall not given to those who have failed once and have passed the HSC/equivalent Examination subsequently.

• Applicants who have represented the state or the Central School/Sainik School at the all India level NCC camps/ courses/activities shall be given weightage of additional 5%mark over and above the aggregate marks secured at HSC/ equivalent examination on production of certificate to that effect by the competent authority, (Director General of NCC/Director of NCC of the sponsoring State which the applicant represented)

• No weightage shall be given in any category if the achievement is not made within two years proceeding to the date of application.

Scouts and Guides.

• Scout/Guides processing and producing the original certificate signed by the President of India shall be given weightage additional 10% of marks over and above the aggregate marks secured at the HSE/equivalent examination.

Sports & Games (SG)

• Applicants who have represented the country at International level shall be given direct admission.

• Applicants who have represented the State at the National level Sports/Games be given weightage of additional 10% of marks over and above the aggregate marks secured at the HSC/equivalent examination

• Applicants who have represented the school at the Inter-State schools Sports Meet, shall be given weightage of additional 5% of marks over and above the aggregate marks secured at the HSC/equivalent examination.

• No weightage shall be given for attendance/participation/representation at international/national /inter- State school level campus/ courses/activities in any field if original certificates by competent authorities are not produced.

• In case of sports and games Meets where the candidates have participated must be recognized/ organized by the Director of Sports, Government of Orissa.
